Emergency Room Pictures

As promised here are the pictures from the Emergency Room. As you can tell by the first picture, Bo really was not hurting too bad.

All of Bo's grandparents waited with us to find out exactly what was wrong. My mom (GiGi) was so great helping calm me down and assure me that accidents happen.
Kissing my precious little boy.

Night Night!

Arm Update

Bo is still doing well and is a super baby indeed. We saw an orthopedic today and found out that his arm could be back to normal in two weeks. I was thrilled. He did not cast his arm but recommended keeping it in his sling. He also gave us a few ace bandage type wraps that we can use to wrap his arm down secure it. He said that he knows Bo will move his arm some and that is fine, we just want to try to prevent further injury during the healing time.

This evening when I got home I sat down and made Bo a "Christmas sling". He has all of these cute Christmas outfits and the blue one was really not working for me. This also gave me a chance to make him one that was a little smaller and fits better. The one from the hospital was actually quite small looking but still too big for Bo. Having one that fits a little better will help him to not use his arm I hope. I tried the sling on right before Bo went to bed tonight. I made it reversible so it would go with more of his outfits. Here he is trying it on.

One tired, cute, precious, boy!

Our First Visit to the ER

Friday morning Bo took his first big fall. I was changing his diaper and he began his usual routine of fighting with me to lay still when he fell. I had hold of his leg as I was changing him but that was not good enough. Bo rolled towards me putting "slack between me and him" and I could not catch him. He landed on his right side and cried only for a few minutes. After I calmed down I called his GiGi and Pop. They met me at Jason's parent's house where Bo was to stay for the day. Once in the car Bo did not even whimper. He rode the whole way with no tears. I had concerns about his arm as he was not moving it beyond the elbow, but he did not seem to be in pain unless we made him move it upward. We all debated and wondered if he was really hurt and how bad. We decided to let him stay with Jason's parents and watch him closely. I went on to work knowing that Bo was in good hands. As the day went on I felt bad and decided It was worth a copay to know he was OK. I called Jason and shared my thought and he agreed. We go Bo in to see his doctor Friday afternoon. After talking with the doctor, x-rays, a trip to the ER, and lots of tears (by me - not Bo) it was determined that Bo's arm is fractured. The top of his humorous bone has a fracture. We were sent home with a sling and are to call the orthopedic on Monday. They did not even feel that Bo needed pain medicine as he has not really cried throughout the ordeal unless you mess with him.

We have stayed home this weekend and are trying to see and learn how this will all work out. I am not sure exactly how you keep a 9 month old (as of today) from using his arm. They did have us safety pin his sling to his clothes to help keep him from using it. Bo was so close to crawling and this has frustrated him as he cannot figure out how to move around now. We have gotten out his exersaucer again to give him another option for playing while still trying to protect his arm some. If anyone has any ideas for keeping him immobile we welcome them.

I have some actual pictures from the E.R. that we took on my mom's camera. When I get them I will share them as well. I also plan on updating after we find out more hopefully from the orthopedic.

Bo Meets Santa

The family picture with Santa below is on the desktop of my computer at school. This week one of the children in our classroom saw it and said... "man we better be good, she knows Santa". After that I freely reminded them that Santa and I were close and if I needed to call him I would.
The picture below was taken by my brother after we met with Santa. Bo has a black wool coat that goes with this hat. We think he is simply precious in them!

Our Annual Trip

Each year after filling up on turkey and all the trimmings Jason and I head off to spend the night and prepare for shopping. This year Bo stayed the rest of the evening and next day with both sets of grandparents. In years past Jason and I have stayed close to the Mall of Georgia, but choose to try Lenox this year. We went Thanksgiving night to see the Lighting of the Great Tree at Macys. Here are a few pictures below.

Please do not get me wrong, Jason and I are not mad Black Friday shoppers who fight over items and knock people down to save a few dollars! We just enjoy getting out and getting in the spirit. Afterall, Christmas is a special time of year... it's when we were married!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Better late than never right? Please check out the link to Bo's cousin Luke's page for some precious turkey day photos.

Meet Bo the Cowboy

Ladies and gentlemen, you have heard of and met Joe the Plumber, but have you seen Bo the Cowboy? We personally find him much more adorable. Believe it or not, I put together this costume for very little money. The vest and bandanna are a cowboy onesie that I bought for $2.00 and modified. Then upon looking for a hat, I met a woman in a store who offered to give me the chaps and outer-vest. I found boots at Wal-Mart, and the rest is borrowed from my home center at school.

We definitely had to make our rounds on Halloween. Bo's appearances began early as I requested his grandparents meet us on my class field trip to the Pumpkin Patch at Trinity United Methodist. Jason and I had taken Bo there last weekend to take pictures of him with the pumpkins. However, once we began taking pictures we realized that the memory chip was missing from the camera. So, we have no pictures from that visit. Therefore, I wanted Bo to join me on my field trip so I could take a few shots. Bo was very tired when he arrived as I was keeping him from his nap. Below is Bo and his granddaddy, and Bo with the pumpkins.

That evening we met up with Bo's cousins. Below is Pebbles Flintstone(Ava), Bo the Cowboy, and Will the Police Officer.

My brother and his family (Joel, Lucinda, Will, and Ava).

After meeting up with my brother and his family, we visited with some more cousins. Bo's cousin Burch was my favorite Halloween character. See if you can guess what, or should we say WHO he was.

Joe the Plumber, or as his shirt says... Joe T. Plumber. We thought his clever costume was a hit. At least more convincing than Sarah Palin - since that job is already taken by Tina Fay. Below is a picture of Burch with his family. He belongs to my uncle Jim and aunt Pam. He also has a beautiful sister, Rachel.
When we met up with my aunt and uncle, we also saw my grandparents. This makes them Bo's great grandparents. They are so proud of Bo, and we so blessed by them. Below is a picture of them followed by a group picture of the men in the family (minus my dad for some reason).
Finally, we ended our trick or treating by stopping by Henry and Connie Pollitz house. They are close family friends and much like another set of grandparents to Bo. Below is a picture of Bo sitting on their sofa. When looking at this picture I first noticed that since Bo is such a young cowboy he must carry a paci in his holster instead of a pistol.

Happy Halloween!

We have lots of updates and pictures to share, but for now a picture with Bo's pumpkin will have to do. I will do my best the get the rest up this weekend. I am remembering to take pictures but just cannot find the time to keep posting them.

7 Months!

Bo has really grown fast! We cannot believe he is already 7 months old. He is getting cuter everyday and really beginning to develop his own personality. He is babbling constantly now and still struggling to cut a tooth. He is eating very well and still LOVES bananas. One of his favorite things continues to be his walks with Jason in the evenings. No matter what kind of evening he is having, he always enjoys his walk. We are sitting with no problem now and even holding our own bottle.

Bo has been looking so cute in his fall clothes. I could not resist this hat. It was a hand-me-down. Bo really gets tickled when we put hats on him. He knows something is different and keeps touching his head and giggling. Speaking of hand-me-downs....

We have REALLY enjoyed all of the fall clothing that Bo's cousin Will, and more specifically his aunt Lucinda and uncle Joel have shared with us. He has been dressed in Halloween style almost everyday for the past week or so. We are definitely thankful for older cousins!

Bathtime Again

Bo recently found the water faucet in the tub. We got him a new bath tub that sits upright. On Thursday evening (Jason's Birthday), he was bathing him and started yelling for me to come with the camera. Jason had scooted Bo up close to the water, and he was playing in it! Bo was so excited, as was his daddy. Here is what I saw.

mmm AH Went the Little Green Frog

Bo was 6 months old yesterday. Today he went for his 6 month check up and here are the stats:

Height - 27 inches (75 percentile)
Weight - 16 lbs. 11.11 oz. (50 percentile)

Bo wore his frog outfit for the first time today. After dinner I thought I would take a few pictures of him so I could update the blog. The outfit has a really cute hood that I had not tried on him yet, but Jason wanted to see what it looked like, and I found it cute.
Oh Look! Its a frog with sweet potato and banana drool! Oh wait, who is that on the TV in the back ground? Is that Osama Bin Laden... Oh no, just Obama who's running with Biden! Sorry, just had to get that in!

Every time I get the camera out, Bo stares at it instead of smiling.

That's better!

Jason is still taking Bo on walks at night. This is right after they returned from their walk. Jason said Bo wore his hood on the way home just for fun.

After a walk is bath time. I realized tonight that I have not taken any pictures of Bo in the tub, and of course we have to have those to show his future dates to embarrass him. Thank goodness I didn't take full body shots! Jason has recently taken over bath time, so taking pictures was a little easier. Here is Bo eating the bubbles. I am really proud of the next two with water. They turned out really cool even if I didn't know what I was doing.

Playing With Ava

Bo has been staying with Gi Gi (my mom) on Mondays. She sent me some pictures of him and Ava playing together last night. She took these pictures last week. Ava turned 1 year old this past week, and Bo will be 6 months this coming weekend. I am so glad that Bo has great cousins like Will and Ava to grow up playing with. They seem to be having lots of fun. Thanks for sharing the great pictures Gi Gi and Pop!

Playing

Bo is now to the age where he is really fun to play with. He is beginning to get a personality of his own. He laughs, screams, and mostly babbles. More recently he has even developed a pathetic fake cough for when he is being ignored. He is still working very hard to cut his first tooth. Sunday we went to Gi Gi and Pop's house for lunch. It was a family affair. Bo got to spend some more time with Will and Ava. He really enjoys being around other children. He is quite the social child.
The hat Bo is wearing used to belong to his cousin Will. He was so sweet to allow Bo to borrow it for a while. When we first got the hat, it was way too big. Therefore, it got pushed to the back of the drawer and I didn't find it again till this past week. Well, it is probably already too small but I managed to cram Bo's noggin into it just this once. After all, we have to have a picture of such a cute hat!One of Bo's new tricks is kissing. He grabs your face and plants one on you! He of course does not have it all down perfect, but hey, he thinks it's funny. With him teething right now and drooling so much this really is interesting. Here he is fixing to kiss Pop.
