A Very Special Day

Today was a very exciting day for our family. Jason's dad was baptized. He has been believer for over 50 years, but had never been baptized. A few weeks back Jason and his parents joined Fellowship Baptist where we attend church. Pretty much all of my family attends church there. I have been a member of Fellowship since a child. Jason and I have attended there together since getting married. We were all so excited when his parents joined us along with my great aunt and uncle. What a blessing! We consider Bo so blessed to be able to attend church with both sets of grandparents, his great grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bo will be able to grow up seeing all of them each week worship and commit their lives to Christ. Not many people are so blessed! After church today we went to eat lunch with Jason's sisters, niece, and parents. Below are some pictures from this special day.

The Happenings of the Bennett Household

Things are still crazy as ever at our house. With me starting back to work, I seem to never find a few minutes to update our blog. Hopefully now that the school year is underway things will calm down a little and we will be able to update more faithfully. During the evenings for the last few weeks Jason has been taking Bo on a walk after dinner. This has given me an opportunity to finish getting things ready for the day ahead and collect my thoughts. Bo seems to really enjoy going on walks. Towards the end of dinner he typically gets really fussy, and so the timing is perfect. Jason says that he rarely cries once they get outside. This past week I asked Jason to take the camera with them and take a few pictures. Here is what they came up with.

That particular night, they were doing some construction on a house around the block from ours. Jason said they stopped to watch for a while.

Bo and Jason have also discovered some cats that live near by. Jason has been telling me how these cats come up to the stroller to see them every night as they walk. He said Bo really likes watching them walk around. All I can say is that he better enjoy seeing them on his walk, because we are not getting a cat!

All of the excitement seems to have worn Bo out.

This week Bo also took a visit to my school. One morning we stopped by to see my dear friend Susan before I took him to his sitter. She has been dying to see him. We spent a lot of time with her this summer and she loves playing with Bo. I guess he will have to call her Nana Susan. He is so blessed to have so many people who care so much about him.

Busy Busy Busy

When we returned from vacation things got crazy. I had one week before returning to work, and it so happened that it was my last week of classes for my masters degree. Therefore, I had lots of projects, papers, and final exams to take care of. I am excited to say that I am finished after exactly 2 years!

That same week Bo went for his 4 month appointment. He actually was 4 months old while we were on vacation. On July 16th Bo weighed 15lbs 9oz. and was 26 inches long. He is growing WAY TOO FAST! He has begun eating baby food and has thus far tried bananas, carrots, green beans, and apples. He loves to eat and gets mad if you do not shovel it in quick enough.

We have been very blessed with great options for childcare now that I am back at work. On Mondays Bo is staying with my mom (GiGi). Then Tuesday through Thursday he stays with Troylene Oates. She keeps a few other children in her home and lives 2 blocks from my school. She is wonderful. Then on Fridays, Bo stays with Jason's mom and dad. We love that he is able to see his grandparents regularly, but that they are not the main source of childcare.

Bo is changing everyday now. He turned 5 months old on the 7th. He will not go back to the doctor until next month, so we will not have an official weight until then. Jason and I however try to guess his weight by weighing him with us on the scales. We are guessing right now that he weighs between 17 and 18 lbs. He is rolling over, and babbling all the time. He has been teething and drooling for a good two months now but still has no teeth to show for it. The other day he took the bottle from me while I was feeding him. He cannot hold it for long on his own but he is definitely trying. Below are a few recent pictures of him playing.

Finally!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to get the rest of our highlights from vacation up on our blog. I downloaded all of my pictures to my dad's computer throughout the week and never took time to get them. After we got home things got crazy as I had only one week before returning to work. Our world has been and is still spinning. More about what is going on more recently later, but for now here are the final highlights from vacation.

One evening later in the week Joel and Lucinda were taking pictures of Will and Ava on the beach. I dressed Bo, and we attempted to then take a few pictures of Will, Ava and Bo. I think we took over 200, however with 3 small children you cannot always get everyone to look and smile together. The one above is in my opinion one of the best. Ava of course looked great in all of the pictures, but we could not get the boys to get on the same page.

Every year we have to eat at Inlet Harbor. When my dad was a child he took a fishing boat from there with his father and brother. His brother Fred caught a huge fish and to this day their picture is hanging on the wall of the restaurant. Therefore, each year we take a picture of my dad standing by his picture. The fish used to hang in the restaurant, however no one can locate it now.

Bo also enjoyed playing with Landon at the beach. His parents and grandparents are family friends. Above is a picture of them laying together. Landon seems to be giving Bo bunny ears.
Bo also enjoyed playing with Mr. and Mrs. D. We have always thought Mr. D was so funny and Bo definitely agreed.
We had a great vacation! I am sad that it went by so fast. I will try to get the blog back up to date in the next few days.
