Emergency Room Pictures

As promised here are the pictures from the Emergency Room. As you can tell by the first picture, Bo really was not hurting too bad.

All of Bo's grandparents waited with us to find out exactly what was wrong. My mom (GiGi) was so great helping calm me down and assure me that accidents happen.
Kissing my precious little boy.

Night Night!

Arm Update

Bo is still doing well and is a super baby indeed. We saw an orthopedic today and found out that his arm could be back to normal in two weeks. I was thrilled. He did not cast his arm but recommended keeping it in his sling. He also gave us a few ace bandage type wraps that we can use to wrap his arm down secure it. He said that he knows Bo will move his arm some and that is fine, we just want to try to prevent further injury during the healing time.

This evening when I got home I sat down and made Bo a "Christmas sling". He has all of these cute Christmas outfits and the blue one was really not working for me. This also gave me a chance to make him one that was a little smaller and fits better. The one from the hospital was actually quite small looking but still too big for Bo. Having one that fits a little better will help him to not use his arm I hope. I tried the sling on right before Bo went to bed tonight. I made it reversible so it would go with more of his outfits. Here he is trying it on.

One tired, cute, precious, boy!

Our First Visit to the ER

Friday morning Bo took his first big fall. I was changing his diaper and he began his usual routine of fighting with me to lay still when he fell. I had hold of his leg as I was changing him but that was not good enough. Bo rolled towards me putting "slack between me and him" and I could not catch him. He landed on his right side and cried only for a few minutes. After I calmed down I called his GiGi and Pop. They met me at Jason's parent's house where Bo was to stay for the day. Once in the car Bo did not even whimper. He rode the whole way with no tears. I had concerns about his arm as he was not moving it beyond the elbow, but he did not seem to be in pain unless we made him move it upward. We all debated and wondered if he was really hurt and how bad. We decided to let him stay with Jason's parents and watch him closely. I went on to work knowing that Bo was in good hands. As the day went on I felt bad and decided It was worth a copay to know he was OK. I called Jason and shared my thought and he agreed. We go Bo in to see his doctor Friday afternoon. After talking with the doctor, x-rays, a trip to the ER, and lots of tears (by me - not Bo) it was determined that Bo's arm is fractured. The top of his humorous bone has a fracture. We were sent home with a sling and are to call the orthopedic on Monday. They did not even feel that Bo needed pain medicine as he has not really cried throughout the ordeal unless you mess with him.

We have stayed home this weekend and are trying to see and learn how this will all work out. I am not sure exactly how you keep a 9 month old (as of today) from using his arm. They did have us safety pin his sling to his clothes to help keep him from using it. Bo was so close to crawling and this has frustrated him as he cannot figure out how to move around now. We have gotten out his exersaucer again to give him another option for playing while still trying to protect his arm some. If anyone has any ideas for keeping him immobile we welcome them.

I have some actual pictures from the E.R. that we took on my mom's camera. When I get them I will share them as well. I also plan on updating after we find out more hopefully from the orthopedic.

Bo Meets Santa

The family picture with Santa below is on the desktop of my computer at school. This week one of the children in our classroom saw it and said... "man we better be good, she knows Santa". After that I freely reminded them that Santa and I were close and if I needed to call him I would.
The picture below was taken by my brother after we met with Santa. Bo has a black wool coat that goes with this hat. We think he is simply precious in them!

Our Annual Trip

Each year after filling up on turkey and all the trimmings Jason and I head off to spend the night and prepare for shopping. This year Bo stayed the rest of the evening and next day with both sets of grandparents. In years past Jason and I have stayed close to the Mall of Georgia, but choose to try Lenox this year. We went Thanksgiving night to see the Lighting of the Great Tree at Macys. Here are a few pictures below.

Please do not get me wrong, Jason and I are not mad Black Friday shoppers who fight over items and knock people down to save a few dollars! We just enjoy getting out and getting in the spirit. Afterall, Christmas is a special time of year... it's when we were married!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Better late than never right? Please check out the link to Bo's cousin Luke's page for some precious turkey day photos.
